ENVIRONMENT-
France has not had a good environment in the past. France had a seriouse problem of water pollution but after a few laws were passed the water pollution decreased. Also in 1994 about 20% of France's forests were damaged becuase of acid rain. Even more laws were passed to stop polluting the air, water, and land. Many more laws kept passing. In 1985, an attempt of banning all toxic waste dumps was successful. Soon things began to turn around for France. In 2001, 13.5% of France's total land was preserved. Today France still struggles with pollution. At one point all animals that were known to exist in France went extinct or endangered. Today people are still working hard to stop the madness.

ECONOMY-
From 2008 to 2010 France's economy grew continuously. The economy in France is very strong and is one of the best in Europe. Because Europe is struggling today for money, France isn't growing as much as it was. In 2010 France has 23 of the 500 biggest factories in the world. In 2008 France was the second- largest recipient in investment with 177.9 billion dollars. That surpassed United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and many more countries. France is also the world's leading country in nuclear energy. The President of France is Nicolas Sarkozy.
